Good update and broadly in line with the assumptions in my valuation (so don't feel the need to update it for now).

Market seems to like it - up 6% on reasonable volumes (for Austco shares at least).

DISC: Held (SM and IRL) and continuing to add to (IRL)

I agree @lyndonator, a positive update. Good to see solid organic growth too.

I pitched this on AusBiz when it was 10c after @Wini first highlighted here, and I also took a small position. I then ditched it to free up some cash for another purchase...almost right before it proceeded to double.

Typical!

I need to take a closer look, but shares still seem reasonably priced. Thumb-sucking a FY25 NPAT of roughly $6-7m puts it on a forward PE of under 14x.

Well I guess it depends on how the investment you sold it for went - but a double is a pretty high bar for it to cross!

It only came on my radar after I heard you mention it - so thanks to both you and @Wini for the idea.

One thing I like about investing is that being lazy (when it comes to "managing" your portfolio, that is) is often rewarded, haha.

That reminds me of this quote: "It never was my thinking that made the big money for me. It was always my sitting. Got that? My sitting tight!" - Jesse Livermore

Yes @RogueTrader the "sitting" can be the hard part, because inaction can feel somehow lazy or unproductive, but you have to be in the right companies to start with, eh!? So, there's an element of thinking required in making the right purchase decision before the sitting can begin.

Glad to bring good ideas to the Strawman community @lyndonator! Just ignore the bad ones please...

I sent Clayton a quick email just to check on the lack of an order book update in this trading update. I didn't suspect anything untoward and Clayton confirmed that the order book is unchanged from the $51m last announced.

A broker sent around a desk note earlier suggesting AHC has received verbal confirmation on a few new deals but given the time of year things are taking time to get pen to paper. Fingers crossed we get another strong update in early 2025!

Yes, this exactly @Bear77, is actually what I like about investing. Not that it rewards laziness as I joked, but you can be sporadic with the work as long as you do most of the thinking before you buy. If you have made a good set of choices, confident some will go well and aware that some won't, and capable of sitting through the volatility, it is OK to do limited work for a length of time.

And when inspiration strikes again you can spend your time doing more thinking and either consolidate your existing theses or find a new company or two.

Fits well with me personally.
