Pinned straw:

Added 3 months ago

When I posted about the increase in web traffic a few days ago I didn’t expect the chart to start looking like this- 26.3k visits in Feb up from 14.8k in Jan.

This is the investor webpage (product info is mostly on getdante.com), and may be not have anything to do with sales, but a large jump nonetheless.

What caused it? A rec from a stock picker? A bunch of strawman investors hopping on the Audinate webpage to see what the fuss is about? 900f1c6c0fbfcf0f37959a05f3db38c3eca33d.jpeg

@cbirtles, what are you using to check website traffic?

I guess you could use it to check both the Audiante (investors, etc) And Dante (users, etc) websites and see if there is a difference.

I'm not surprised there is a spike in investors looking at the website, there's a lot happening for this business right now.

They had an amazing FY24, but turns out that was due to a pull forward of demand which they didn't realise / declare. So they had a nasty downgrade, followed by another.

Price is down 70% from recent highs. The results at 1H on Monday will look horrible. That's not in question as it's been well flagged. Guidance will be key, especially for FY25.

The question for a lot of investors is what happens beyond that.

This is arguably the most competitively advantaged business on the ASX (in audio at least), so it has enormous potential (especially if they can parlay audio success into video).

So I wouldn't read much into the Audinate web traffic if investors are showing a lot of interest right now.

Dante web traffic would be more interesting for longer term focused investors.

I was curious to see what Google Trends would tell me about search interest in Dante. It's possible investors are searching for this term, too, but given the results are worldwide I think that the majority of searches are by end users (or potential end users). The top countries searching for Dante are Norway, Hong Kong, and China. The absence of Australia suggests to me these are not investors. (These three countries are actually not what I expected, and I wonder if we're seeing manufacturers over represented here).

There's sudden drop recently but that turned out to line up with December 25, so probably nothing remarkable.

This is just a quick scan, but it's nice to see search volume trending up over 12 months. It doesn't show the dramatic uptick we can see in @cbirtles post, but you'd need to do a lot more analysis to draw any conclusions.

Anyway, thought it was interesting but nothing conclusive.
