It's not that often that you see formal communications making so clear how the relationships between a Chair and CEO has broken down, to the extent of saying, "we tried to give you money to go quietly ... we couldn't agree ... so you're going now with the minimum compensation ... plus foregoing all incentives (which of course is standard in these situations)."
What's also a sign of how bad things got is that someone felt that needed to air the dirty laundry to the press, which made the whole process very public.
Relationship breakdowns (whatever the underlying root cause) are often the end result of leading to Executive exits. But normally these things are kept under wraps with signed agreements binding both parties.
A messy end. I really hoped that Swami would be good for $PNV, but things didn't pan out. The risks were clear from the early days, howvever.
