Hi all,

I am invested in the Bitcoin ETF (ticker code) EBTC. However on Strawman I have noticed the majority of people (if invested in a Bitcoin ETF) are invested in VBTC.

I am wondering if anyone can see a potential issue with my holding in EBTC, something I haven't thought about??

Here is an article talking about both options:

Thanks in advance.

A basic comment here. IBTC will allow loans against holdings of BTC and allow in kind redemption back and forth, albeit a difficult process as mentioned by some posters. All have custody risk against self custody, again another process to understand and diverse risks.

Everything carries risk, be directionally right and you're sweet imo

@Escapetrader -- for me it's because we get pricing data for VBTC on Strawman via our data provider, not the others.

In real life, my ETF exposure is through Monochrome (ASX:IBTC), purely because they allow in-kind redemptions.

Increasing competition is having a favourable effect on fees as well:

Effective market open on 18 March 2025, the Monochrome Bitcoin ETF (IBTC) will be adjusting its management fees and costs from 0.50% p.a. to 0.25% p.a.
