2239 GMT - Australian stock futures are pointing to an opening rise for the S&P/ASX 200 index, although movements in other markets point to the possibility of early volatility. ASX futures are up by 0.5% ahead of Thursday's session, which is scheduled to begin about two hours after President Trump unveiled a 10% blanket tariff on Australian imports. The benchmark share index in New Zealand, which is subject to the same levy, dropped as much as 1.7% in early trade before paring its deficit to about 0.6%. Ahead of the open, Treasury Wine Estates said it expects only a minimal impact from tariffs. Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, which is listed in both Australia and New Zealand, said it anticipates additional costs from fiscal 2026. ([email protected])
