I'm a bit confused about $VTM requesting the current trading halt for capital raising purposes, when they already had an LOI (previous announcement to market) with US Government for up to $190M to help develop their biggest mine opportunity at North Stratmore.

Anyway, watch this space for market reaction once further information is available and shares are trading again.

Yeah, beware mine developers who say they are fully funded; it often means "we'll raise more money as soon as the share price is a bit higher", and VTM's SP more than doubled in the first three weeks of May.

Sometimes we look back and realise it was a good time to raise with a nice high share price, other times we stay pissed off that they lied to us and we got diluted again by another discounted placement. Just have to expect this stuff from project developers @lowway.

Disc: Not holding VTM, but I hold other companies that are at a similar stage in their development, and I expect fairly regular opportunistic capital raises, especially if they say they don't need to raise.

I'm not confused. Only just done a scoping study. The LOI is debt for project funding that would only be available, if they pass the muster, for constructing the mine and the quantum is less than capex so at that time they would also need to raise equity. VTM is a long way off building and thus would obviously need to raise to keep progressing the project to that stage.
