Changes underway at FDV with a double resignation, after a year of discussing restructuring.

I'm not experienced enough to understand everything that is going on here, but it seems that the global collection of platforms at different stages of development has been complicated to manage. The most valuable asset is currently in LATAM which might do better by itself, but then the others are left as tiny startups with interesting long term potential.

Patrick Groves is an original founder and largest shareholder. He was appointed to the board after the AGM, but has now been appointed chairman. He obviously feels that FDV has lost its way and needs more immediate direction from him.

Shaun stepping down is a big one. This feels like a busted thesis, but I need to digest a few things first. There's a long handover, this isn't an immediate step down. And the fact that Groves is stepping up makes this interesting. I'm guessing a sale is imminent or it's about to be taken private. Groves has a long history of starting and floating/selling companies.

The shares have already tanked with the initial news, but this isn't a go to zero scenario. I didn't get out at 0.265 this morning so I figure I've got a few days to mull this one over without losing much more.

Thanks @Bushmanpat

I agree, it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see some sort of announcement re the companies future soonish. Although I wonder why that hasn't preceded the resignations. I guess we will find out in due course

I will take the same approach and mull this over for a while

Hopefully he can achieve what he did with iCar Asia, which was sold at a good premium to the bottom tick.

Yes I remember iCar Asia. Actually did pretty well out of it in the end. After a lot of patience

Thats a thesis killer for me.

Leadership risk now looms large, despite the stop start of success and failure with FDV and its underlying regions and companies.

Agreed

I am in 2 minds whether to sell now or not. Market cap is only just over $100 million. Multiple parts of the business could easily be worth more than that by themselves. But I have been saying that for a long time
