Can someone explain why there are orders going through early morning on the ASX.

These alerts went off this morning in Trading View way before the market is meant to open.

So then I thought is it something just in Trading View?

So I went to Commsec and brought Zip up to confirm a sale.

There it is, so it is actually happening. They are only small, but wow they bugger up the charts. Could it be something to bug out the High Frequency Algo's Calcs. Or is there something else dodgy about this practice. It also hapopend a couple of times over the last few weeks. Any one know whats behind this?

Actually the MIN stock was a $42K trade so not so small.

Oh and DMP $117.5K

& AGL $521k, What the hell?

Yeah, it seems like an odd thing @Saitonbut it is not as dodgy as it seems.

The ASX has a pre-open session from 7-10am where brokers can enter or change orders, but nothing usually or "officially" matches until 10 when the market opens. But you might still see the occasional off-market trade pop up. These are usually special crossings or block trades, where big institutions agree to swap a large parcel of shares privately and report it to the ASX.

These block trades help avoid slamming the market with huge orders that would mess with prices. It can feel a bit like big guys versus small guys, but the idea is to keep the main session smoother and more orderly for everyone.

The condition code EC is for a call option that has been exercised. Contract size for ASX options is 100 shares in the underlying.

At a guess, I'd say it was this contract.
