A day later and I have managed to pick my jaw up off the floor. Oracle....

My wife was asking why a jump of over 30% was such a big deal. When I told her about @Strawman's favourite "growth" company, CBA being a quarter of the size of Oracle she started to understand. We fondly remember walking the "bump and grind" hike in Palm Springs and overlooking Larry's private golf club that the likes of Nadal stay at for his Indian Wells tournament. She thinks Larry's increase in wealth of about $100B should maintain the golf course ok!

Can we ask Matt Comyn when CBA will pop 30%?

Last year I recommended buy Oracle shares over Prophecy purely because Oracle was indirectly selling their cloud infrastructure using partners such as Prophecy and earning a cut from it.

How right was I?

Pity those quarterly Oracle dividends will be a big headache for your tax return and your W8-BEN form

Now there's an obscure comparison for the ages @nessy. Maybe Matt Comyn plays golf and may one day get an invite from Larry.

Good, early call on Oracle as well @edgescape, I wish I had that tax problem.

Well there is that saying "Hate the game, not the player"

The big guy is the game, small guy is the player.

Having said that most of the more established partners of large tech companies learned to keep their customer work a tightly held secret just in case they get stabbed in the back...

I remember going into a meeting and we told Oracle we are working on this tech platform solution while being careful not to disclose who we are working with.

Yes, @lowway , it is an obscure comparison. I think it came about having just finished listening to @Strawman rant about CBA on the weekly MF podcast combined with my 58 year old brain trying to construct a uni assignment, so I was looking for any diversion I could! So given Oracle had popped somewhat and is a relatively mature company like CBA, albeit different industries, I just threw it out there! Weekend reading......
