Mt Oxide (Aquila, Vero, Rhea – QLD)

  • Phase 1 drilling confirmed Aquila as a large-scale, depth-persistent copper-cobalt-silver system (+420m depth, ~100m width).
  • Extensions were also noted at Vero and new targets at Rhea.
  • Phase 2 drilling is underway, but results are still preliminary, and the economic viability of these deposits remains untested.

There is a lot of press at the moment about the potential smelter closure at mount isa. If it is to remain operational, it will need new sources of viable ore located in the mount isa area. It is very early days, but if the government decides it wants an operational smelter in Australia and doesn’t want to capitulate to the Chinese then they may well throw some money at the infrastructure to make that happen… at that point True North Copper might take a substantial jump….lots of if’s in all that
