04-Dec-2025: LSX's AGM Presentation on November 27th was interesting. Below are three slides that show what they hold, what commodities those companies are exposed to, what LSX is expecting from those companies in the coming months and years, and finally where Hedley Widdup (their MD) thinks we are in the commodity cycle based on his clock:

BTW, in a post about HAV and FFM (here), I said that LSX currently hold a position in RMS (Ramelius Resources, an ASX100 (large) established gold producer. This is NOT correct; I had remembered the podcast incorrectly (this podcast) - Hedley did mention Ramelius (RMS) and their Edna May mill which is currently on C&M, however he was only pointing out that there are no mid-tier or larger goldies currently operating in that area, and he was discussing that in relation to the potential of Brightstar Resources (BTR) at that point, a company that LSX does hold. However Lion Selection Group (LSX) does not hold shares in RMS or any of the other larger producers. I have corrected that post of mine now.

Disclosure: I do not hold LSX shares, however both LSX and I do own shares in AZY, SHN and GBR.

@Bear77 The MoM podcast was great.

Hedley came across as very knowledgeable and he was given plenty of room to share his thoughts with the audience.

And because he had a plane to catch (notice he looked at his watch a couple of times), Hedley was speaking quite fast and getting to the point reasonably quickly, yet what he was saying was easy to understand. Agreed @Arizona that it was one of the better MoM podcasts - not overly long and the pace was good, with plenty of knowledge shared.

I think he flew over to Perth for the AGM of one of the companies he was talking about, or that was one of the things he did that morning - so he likes to keep on top of the companies they hold.

@Bear77 It really struck me that Travis and Jonas may have hit their stride.

They had very little input really and they didn't interrupt Hedley. Allowing the podcast to flow.

A real example of a "less is more" situation.

I agree with that assessment of yours @Arizona - I didn't think MoM would be as good after Matty left, and (IMO) Trav & JD did struggle a bit after that for a few weeks, but, yeah, they're hitting their stride now. I don't like every pod, like the ones with the animated shrubs, clouds or koalas - those anonymous X users - are mostly rubbish IMO, but there are a few real gems, especially when the lads talk to real people in their studio, like that one with Hedley Widdup. Great pacing, and when a guest is making as much sense as Hedley was, best not to interrupt that flow. Just providing a few prompts now and then for further discussion seems to work fine.

Turns out Hedley squeezed the MoM discussion in between an AGM and a planned lunch (he didn't say who with), and he caught a plane back from Perth to Melbourne after that, so he was looking at his watch because of that lunch he needed to get to, not because of the plane, but glad he managed to do the MoM thing even though he didn't have much time.
