Ok, so this is a bit out of left field, but I came across an interesting discussion on banking and Islamic finance with Tarek El-Diwany.

I also recommend his book, the problem with interest, which if nothing else will really get you thinking.

Anyway, it's not exactly your typical Saturday night viewing, but if you want to geek out over monetary mechanics and contemporary financial incentive mechanisms, I recommend it!

(This podcast was from 2021, and at the very end Tarek talks of "crypto" in a fairly dismissive way. Which is funny because today he is a big advocate for Bitcoin)
