Bit of a mixed (one might say hazy) read through for hazer shareholders on the Santos announcement it will supply gas to whyalla from 2030.

In the announcement they mention green iron, which in the same breath as gas is very promising for hazer, but then they talk about gas being lower emission than coal in a blast furnace, less promising.

Given the timing (supply from 2030), there is probably plenty of time to convert a furnace to run on hydrogen if M and Hazer win the bid.

Looking like an even money bet now, this could actually happen. POSCO involvement even better!

@Longpar5, that does make things very interesting indeed! Commercials aside, given the "need for internal country self-security" mindset following the Iran war, you would think having a consortium that is primarily domestic + POSCO + local green H2 would make for a very attractive proposition vs a foreign-owned consortium. Particularly from the recent history of Whyalla!
