ALC has announced this morning that they're buying the Kyra Flow products from Telstra Health. $3m up front with $1m earn out assessed over 12 months to be funded from existing cash of $15.1m FY26 revenue of $3.7m, 90% recurring and underlying EBITDA of $1.1m.

Opens new markets/clients, especially in QLD. Sounds good on the face of it.

Webcast at 11:30am: Webinar Registration - Zoom

Alcidion has acquired Kyra (from Telstra Health) for A$3.0m upfront (FY26 EBITDA 2.7x) and A$1.0m earnout. The Kyra flow products are a proprietary suite of digital solutions that address patient flow and data access challenges across hospital inpatient and outpatient settings.

Adds customer base (Qld in particular) with 33 customers (only 2 current engaged), expand platform capability and earnings accretive.

I look forward to the webinar, but on the face of it this is a small dip into their large cash pile which offers solid financial and growth metrics.

Takeaways from the webinar:

  • This looks like a customer rather than tech acquisition, Kyra is old and embedded in 31 customers in Australia Alcidion does not serve and Kate would like to flip them to Miya Precision and expand the service offering.
  • The price is low in part because Telstra Health is exiting and Kyra is an on-premises software not cloud based, hence would require additional investment that they don’t see as warranted, but Alcidion is in a position to either update Kyra and merge the platforms (unlikely given tech debt) or more likely just transition customers over to Miya Precision over time.
  • Kate seemed cagy regarding how Alcidion may “work with” Telstra Health as they exit all but their billing products. I have the impression they are in on-going discussions with Telstra Health about additional acquisitions.

Conclusion: This is a low cost, low risk acquisition with good customer expansion opportunities so I see little downside risk and good upside opportunities as a result.
