Discl: Not Held, but very interested ...

Had a quick look at the VBTC chart after chatting briefly to a friend.

  • Was previously looking at around ~$25-$26 where there looked like decent support
  • But then it fell off the cliff, and is now hovering around $20
  • Next support levels are $19.35, then $17.97, then the all-time low of $16.32

This starts to make VBTC very interesting indeed for a 1.0 to 1.5% position, as the downside risk continue to fall as the price falls.

If I opened a position, would probably buy around $20, then nibble on down days as it drifts lower.

@jcmleng VBTC not very good trend on this chart today. This was looking okay 50DMA on the way up into 200DMA Now the bears have returned. A large draw down. Looks like VBTC needs a lower interest rate environment, just like the typical growth stocks require,,

Could be good buying in the mid teens... DYOR..

@raymon68, agreed. I got a bit excited last night as it had dipped ~20% from when I last looked. My challenge remains to convince myself why I would add VBTC to my portfolio ...reality bit this morning when I can't put in a few lines why I would add and what would be bumped.

The drivers of BTC are still not as clear as I'd like it to be ...

Lastly, once the thesis is good, I tend to buy an upfront starter position when the price on the chart is closer to lows, then average down rather than wait. I was already contemplating around $25-$26, but same problem, could not articulate the why, the drivers etc. and fortuitiously, did not pull the trigger then.

I'm not a btc investor, and I really don't want to troll, but I came across this: https://x.com/jdorman81/status/2060063924582830127. The drivers of BTC are all over the shop, from what I can tell. I prefer stodgy old gold because at least it takes time and effort to move large volumes... but that's why I don't drive a Farari I guess...

Yeah, the underlying has clearly failed at the 200DMA, which is a bit surprising given the strength prior to that.
