Intresting bbc documentary report on water with particular intrest in how water has been privatised since 1989 in the Uk by Margret Thatcher.

I recomend it to increase knowledge on how Duxton creates its value its a facinating watch its a couple of hours but explains the whole privatization of water around the world. It talks on Maquarie Banks involvement in Thames water. And also the Murray Darling area as whole where Duxton mainly invests. And tracks how water now is a listed comoditity and how its refered to being the new oil of the world over the next number of years.

I invest in rff where it has water rites as well as part of its assets. I havnt researched Duxton but i beleive its one of the only pure plays on water on the asx.

Patience and Mark - this will soon be irrelevant (and I will delete this and a number of other posts about this issue posted by me) because Andrew has stated that they are removing the downvote option with the next system upgrade, so all downvotes will disappear at that point, which I wholeheartedly support, however a few weeks ago I went through the process of trying to work out who the downvoter was.  You can't do this with forum posts, but you can with straws and valuations where all upvotes are shown (they show which members have upvoted) and you can't give both an upvote and a downvote to the same straw or valuation, so therefore none of the people who gave an upvote for a straw or valuation that has one annoying downvote are responsible for that downvote.  Also, you can NOT give yourself an upvote or a downvote for your own straw, valuation or forum post.  The system won't allow you to.  ...Unless you had two accounts and used the second one to vote on stuff posted by the first one.  Anyway, by working back through pages and pages of the newsfeed and using that process of deduction, I was able to rule out most of the top rated members here - like most of the top 50, although some of them rarely upvote anything at all, so that made it harder.  At the end of that, while I now have a list of people who I think are NOT the downvoter, I am probably no closer to working out who it is, however I now assume it's being done by somebody purely to annoy us, rather than as some sort of strategy to move themselves up the rankings.  This view is reinforced by the fact that the downvotes, when given, are given equally to top ranking members and members whose ranking is very low, usually because they've only recently joined the community.  And the single downvotes are given to virtually every post, valuation and straw in the newsfeed at that time.  There doesn't seem to be any strategy involved, other than to provoke a reaction, which has worked... again.  I am therefore not going to comment on this matter any more... from now.

I have shares in Duxton Water as this year being forcast as Australia worst drought ever by a weather forecaster with a proven forcsting record for the last ten years. Mr Kevin Long from http://thelongview.com.au/ profits  can increase greatly or maybe limited water to sell ?

Hi Get Smart,

It's actually one I've been watching for a while. I'm yet to invest as it's currently trading near 12 mth highs and above it's NAV.

The fact they are paying a div indicates to me growth could be an issue.

Although they may have a bright future I don't see them shooting the lights out and I currently see better places for my money.
