Forum Topics How do we increase forum activity?

I would love to see forums linked to individual stocks so another section like straws/reports etc. I often am reviewing others valuations and reports and think of questions or issues I would like to discuss but if the stock forum is there it would encourage me to query immediately. I absolutely love the site but sometimes run out of things to do if I've read the reports/straws so somewhere to discuss further with people who also have skin in the game would be great.

Maybe it would be possible to have a forum of all stocks but tagged so that they also link to the companies profile also.

Hi RosieLea, thanks for the kind words. Every company already has it's own dedicated forum. Go to a company report, and click on the 'forum' tab eg https://strawman.com/member/members/forumTopics/PPH

{A part duplicate of a post about sending emails, more about this..}..

The sooner the better, i think your membership will grow quickly

Just maket it better than sharecafe. The challenge is to put it on par with HotCopper. You might think that's a low hudle, but they have the numbers.

I think there is some software for group fora, Atlassian (sharecafe?), Zoteria (public domain) which you could easily (!?) modify.

What's wrong with HC.

1. trolls, uprampers and down rampers. Your structure of requiring taking a position in any stock you recommend is a BIG  advantage, but needs to be atached to being able writing in any forum pertaining to a stock. So if you are an upper or downer it shows in your performance.

2. Moderation criteria. 100% on topic or out. It is very hard to discuss important issues like shorting which are both particualr to a stock and market wide..

Valuation criteria in general. Investopedia, Simply Wall st? as generic topics, some commentators.

PS how do you do that here?

You will need moderators. I'm mostly retired :-)

Can a straw be converted to a forum post if someone wants to reply and discuss? Maybe you can already reply to Straws?
