Totally agree Strawman. As much as I dislike tensions that can cause a war, they can provide opportunities to buy into companies that are currently overvalued. I keep a watchful eye on my watchlist and buy if valuation opportunities appear as companies get oversold on fear.

Is it another genius Trump play securing his seat at the helm?

 

How does one balance a portfolio around these threatening times and does it get taken into account at all? It will be interesting to see what happens over night in US markets.

 

Looking for thoughts of those who have been trading through times like this before...

Every crisis is unique in it's own way, but if this escalates it will likely cause a hit to sentiment, and therefore valuations. Markets hate uncertainty. At the same time, the day to day operations of many businesses won't be directly impacted, nor their longer-term prospects. My approach is just to remain focused on the fundamentals and invest with a long-term time frame.
