I’ve signed up to Strawman Premium and excited to be aboard.

I’ve been investing for a little over 10 years and still have much to learn which was one of my prime motivations to join. I hope I can add to the conversation and look forward to being a part of the community.

Bear and Noddy

Thank you for your kind words. Right time I think to sign off.

And yes, Noddy. Everything in fun. Life's too short to sweat the small stuff.  As to some stock outcomes I (almost) anticipate...I guess all I can say right now is "watch this space"!

Bear, you overwhelm me with the numbers you have at your fingertips. I see yours as a very numbers-driven approach, while I have been looking for patterns, attributes, advantages. Something (not often obvious) that allows me to differentiate.. As a result, I see you having plenty of hard facts about company performance at your disposal to enable forensic assessments. Whereas as I rely upon an evolving and fluid risk/reward assessment. Not surprising, perhaps, given the different classes of Value and Growth stocks being we review.

And if I haven't spelled out my selection method here previously, well, it is not very scientific, but does seek out certain types of attributes. Although not ones that could be put on an exhaustive list and religiously scored. Rather, I have sought out opportunities that are beyond “interesting,” beyond mere Apps. I shortlist stocks, or entrepreneurs, or both...that can make a substantial difference in their space. And by space I mean an area of industry or technology which can make a big difference...to that whole indutry, or in the case of AI, potentially to the whole of humanity.

Big noise, probably sounds big-headed, but it does help me avoid (again) sweating the small stuff. Looking at how this philosophy fits with my major current holdings:

BRN: potential leader in 4th Industrial Revolution (no less)

4DS: potential first provider of a valid (fast enough) Storage Class Memory solution. And even beyond that...possibly first Universal Memory

EXR: most likely candidate to source nearby and cheap Coal Seam Gas to help China meet future emission reduction targets

IMU: already Australia's 2nd biggest BioTech, but poised to deliver unique cancer treatments and even cures which will revolutionise medicine and have dramatic impact on disease progression

With that off my chest, I'll sign off. Not suggesting my methods are appropriate, or even adequate.  Just that they have worked out ok for me.

Goodbye for now..and good luck.

I've been a mostly non posting lurker up until now. Learning from the likes of Bear77, wini, CanadianAussie and Strawman to name a few. I just decided I learnt so much about small caps from this site that even if I didn't feel I made the money spent on premium "back" in better performance in the next year it was like a pay what you think it's worth restaurant in arrears.

The psychological effect of parting with money is interesting- here I am posting not 5 mins after joining premium. But if it drives me to be a better reader / investor, the membership offer is worth it.
