It seems clear there is sustained and growing demand for telematic solutions and EROAD has demonstrated an ability to capture a share of this, reflected in the strong uptake of their product offering.
As an industry outsider, I am struggling to understand whether EROAD’s products will eventually become a standard feature in new heavy vehicles...
If telematics / data capture is as critical as what the bull case suggests to fleet management then would it be reasonable to expect that vehicle manufacturers recognise this themselves and incorporate in their product?
I can appreciate at present there are a wide range of vehicle types, makes and ages out on the road so EROAD’s after-market product fills this gap, however, I’d be keen to hear any perspectives of what this might look like in 5-10 years? Particularly if anyone has an understanding of what features the leading heavy vehicle manufacturers have in the pipeline, and the extent to which telematics is on their radar?
I also note this doesn’t necessary make EROAD redundant if there is an opportunity here to partner with the vehicle manufacturer as the standard install (has this ever been flagged by Management?)… Or transition towards to software / data analysis / management solutions….
