An R&D contract is an interesting development -- seems that a Five Eyes DOD agency is using Droneshield to conduct innovative research that would often occur in-house. Even if one of Droneshield's products isn't suitable for that respective agency (at this time), the entity providing 10m for Droneshield to undertake the heavy lifting is enormous validation, particularly noting it is a repeat customer.
The other key part of this announcement is the current order book having increased to around 29m. A reminder that we are talking about a small 130m market cap company based in Australia. Impressive stuff.
@Bradbury I think your previous comments about about them having to raise cash so they can scale much quicker will be spot on. The order book validates this and now it is increasingly becoming a question about whether the company can meet demand in suitable timeframes. They mentioned in this announcement that the previous 11m contact announced in Dec 22 is now delivered and paid for, but they are still progressing the inventory build for the second 11m order announced in Jan 23 -- with this expected to be delivered later this year. That isn't ideal, especially when you consider the industry they are operating in. The ability to have inventory ready to go for orders as required is no doubt something their customers are crying out for.
