Think if this deposit was monazite, then the situation at ASM would be totally different.

Id say not really, yes they will need to pulverise the ore down so the acid can leach elements away

they can make HYdrocholic and or sulphuric acid on tap. And so that wouod suggest lots of acid in solution that you then simoly preciptate out in stages (pretty basic chemistry)
