Melbourne Meet up
I wanted to organise another Melbourne Meet-Up.
If you're interested, the dates I'm thinking are the Thursday 17th of July or Friday the 18th of July. School holidays of an evening. About 6pm
I have emailed the people from 2 years ago meetup and have a database already. If you weren't in attendance you can private message me your email address and I can add you.
Organising these things is next to impossible to make everyone happy so I'll do my best to accommodate within the Melbourne CBD on a date that most prefer in the hope that most people can be in attendance.

Booking made, I'm still waiting for a response from them in regards to my request for a downstairs seating area which is more casual vibe. In the meantime I have booked this for next Thursday and looking forward to seeing everyone there. Anyone welcome to join, just mention below if you haven't already indicated attendance or are not in the Whatsapp group. We have about 8 to 10 confirmed. The booking is for 12, I'll adjust if needed.

Melbourne Meetup Classier and more intelligent than Sydney's meetup
According to a source close to the reporter, Melbourne's meetup has exceeded and overwhelmed expectations, jokingly of course.
A solid turnout last night, with 5 or so Strawmanians intending on the next meetup (challenge extended). This time around, the conversation was flowing much more openly, primarily because most had met two years prior. It felt great to have a space where people felt content to talk about money and explore their interests with like-minded people. Investing can be an isolating place, particularly when things aren't going well, and having intelligent people you can bounce ideas off that genuinely listen and have an opinion is hard to come across I've found.
Money is such a taboo topic within society, unless of course you're talking real estate smh. You do have to put your ideas out there and have the courage to sound stupid.
Thanks everyone for making the effort to attend. Thanks Strawman for shouting the bar, albeit on a Thursday (well played).
Looking forward to following some people's trades that I can now link a face and conversation to.

Thanks everyone for turning up last night to the Melbourne meetup. I think we can say without fail it absolutely blew the socks off the Sydney Meetup. There were; property rants, Bitcoin thesis and even some political opinions on The voice shared. All respectfully and all in a curious manner.
We were all winners on the evening. Thank you so much to Andrew Page for his gracious hosting. It was great to connect with some like-minded people with different backgrounds, biases and stock picks. Safe to say we didn't solve the world's problems but we certainly tried.
Someone asked on the way out why I was wearing a name tag and I was very proud to say that our speed dating was successful and I left a very happy man with some new connections.

I'd love to organise a meet up for Grand final eve 29th September. Good for a sit down and chat without loud music, but music optional.
