This is a really useful post. As a 30-year professional investor and now a retail investor, i had to reprogram myself (not easy--took a while) and the author covers the main areas involved. i emailed the author and congratulated him on a good article.

Alan Kohler posted a link to this great morningstar article in his weekly brifefing. Well worth a read. There is a lot to be said to just remembering, like @Strawman has also posted in his weekly roundup, that there are so many different strategies at play in the market and you need to keep focussed on your game and your competitive strengths

thanks @Duffshot38

@Strawman 's quote: "General MacArthur's advice: Preparedness is the key to success and victory", is a great one, complemented by one of my favourites: “The nicest thing about not planning is that failure always comes as a complete surprise and is not preceded by a period of worry and desperation.”     ~ Richard Palmer. Whoever he was.

Mark is a good writer, based on some previous articles I have read from him. Well worth following methinks.
