Absolutely agree with that idea OTH - if a stock is added to a scorecard while the market is closed (overnight or on a weekend - or a on a public holiday) then it should be added at the first available opening price, not the next available closing price.  If added during a trading day, it can be added at that day's closing price, although that doesn't work for me very well to be honest.  I started working full-time again last October, - permanent afternoon shift again - and my scorecard activity (buys and sells) has slowed a lot since then because I dislike locking in a trade by lunch time, then going to work and then finding out what price I got after I return from work (at 10 or 11pm).  I use limit-pricing for all of my real-life trades, and because I tend to wade around at the smaller (micro-cap) end of the market, where the liquidity is often low, buying or selling at-market can be quite risky.  Buying or selling at a closing price that is 3 or 4 hours away (or more) is even worse.  I used to trade stocks like MIN on my scorecard - and there were others, but you have to be at a computer watching the final part of the trading day for that to work, and I don't have that luxury any more.  It would work for me if I could lodge trades overnight - on Strawman.com - and get the next morning's opening price.  You can watch the pre-market, and if you don't like the action, you can cancel the trade.  After all, investing is really all about buying something for a price you are happy to pay and hoping to sell it later for more.  Sometimes much later - sometimes sooner.  But it's not about buying - or selling - shares for an unknown price and hoping that it turns out to be a good one.

We only have access to end of day prices. If we can make Strawman viable, our intention will be to buy an intraday price subscription which will solve all these problems. But, as it stands currently, as a free site and zero revenue operation, we can't justify this expense. Hopefully in the not too distant future!
