"The relentless pursuit of energy efficiency extends right down to the way the car’s electronic brains process information. The EQXX features a neuromorphic computer network developed in conjunction with California-based artificial intelligence developer BrainChip.

Neuromorphic computing is a form of information processing in which hardware runs what are known as spiking neural networks. These artificial neural networks mimic natural neural networks, firing only when certain thresholds are reached. Mercedes says the system measurably reduces energy consumption. One small example: The “Hey Mercedes” voice control system in the EQXX is five to ten times more efficient than in current Mercedes production cars."

This quote is from: https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/2022-mercedes-benz-eqxx-reinventing-the-electric-car

Will it change the argued postilions of some? Probably not..

But it should.

So much negative bias in the forum (which I can't reply to directly). I applaud the brave souls trying to retain some objectivity there!

A few simple facts, if I may.

Firstly, selling chips is not and never will be BRN's primary strategy. Placing IP (at 97% gross margin) is the preferred approach. And when you take the time to see the list of named EAP partners and now 3 major fabless semi companies contracted and locked in, the strategy is clearly working. Some chips will go out to the world of developers, but the major players will see best advantage in incorporating/embedding the technology, not buying standalone chips.

And the 2-3 year moat of competitive advantage continues unthreatened. Intel still talks of its research-only neuromorphic chip,(which still requires so much more power at the Edge than Brainchip). IBM has gone silent. Daylight is running second.

If people don't have the profile to take the risk on Brainchip, that's fine. But please don't twist the company's objectives.

Even the ASX is starting to get what BRN is about...subtle nudge to revisit the (now gently) rising share price!

Hello Noddy, this one is for you.

I wasn't expecting to have anything to pass along to my old strawman friends for some time and then either a mea culpa or a (gentle) "as predicted".  But during the week I was forwarded a thesis on Brainchip prepared by a private investor.

But wait, there's more! This document also tackles (at some length) the issues and challenges of trying to assess pre-reveneue companies and so accord them some kind of worthiness ranking, so that they are not just shouted down by unaware (I might be tempted to say "ignorant") members of our illustrious fourth estate.

Frankly, it covers very neatly the topics you and I were discussing jjust before the rebirthing of Strawman.  And it does so with far more completeness, relevance and professionalism than I could ever have offered.

It comprises over 30 pages and yes. I did seek and receive permission to publish this here. Hope it fills in some of the gaps I left.

We are in suspended animation going forward, but I can live with that.  Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree, etc, etc. And I'll respond a month on.  Alternatively, I also answer to acca_acca@gmx.com.

The below link to this document is not as small as would be ideal, but it does work for me.  Failing that, a cut-and-paste-and-click in a new browser tab will also do the job.

By the way, I didn't realise, but write access to the strawman forum is not open to those of us in the cheap seats.  Hence this is hidden away here under the BRN valuations.  If considered suitable, feel free to promote ther link to somewhere more visible on the site.

Happy investing everyone.
