Electro Optic Systems (EOS) finally had some positive news this week (today in fact).

  • Shares of Electro Optic Systems Holdings Ltd (EOS) soar as much as 53.9% to A$0.7, posting their biggest intraday pct gain since December 2001
  • Space and defence tech firm says it secured conditional contract to supply heavy Remote Weapon Systems to Ukraine, valued at up to $80 mln
  • Stock hits highest since Jan. 27
  • EOS down 6.2% this year, as of last close

This stock is almost as down in the dirt as one can ever get (from its highs).

It still sits on a 87% loss IRL for me - so by this stage I'll have to see multiple doublings to even get close to a brighter tomorrow.

Anyway - one can hope. Let this news bring joy to the many suffering EOS hodlrs.

Have had EOS a while; more convicted in the broad space/defense industry than in EOS itself specifically. At a decent loss but will hold for the moon or the basement.

I do wonder though, given the continual slow step towards a spaceboom in mid 2020's, and the Russia event's of this week, coupled with a few extra defense announcements in the last two weeks; will EOS finally start to secure a few 'local' significant contracts AND/OR other contracts from Europe for technology for missile defense systems etc.

I'm tempted to top up just a little while prices are futher gutted after an already tough 12months - but I'd be lying if I said I knew whether all competitor defense companies would be better placed to capitalise on this new era of increased global attention on defense.

And if I find out EOS has/do sell a unit to Russia; I'm selling all.

Some discussion about EOS in light of the COVID impacted half year results.

Nothing too much that long-visioned investors don't already know but interesting nonetheless; a decent long term opportunity perhaps, but not for those expecting Brainchip / Pointerra / 8common type short term roller coaster gambles.
