Against all odds, and despite my highly questionable coding skills, the new Strawman website is officially out in the wild.
As I’m sure you’ve seen by now, we threw out the old (and rather worn) front-end interface and rebuilt it from the ground up. It took a mountain of caffeine and an excessive amount of swearing at the computer screen, but I think it polished up okay — especially given we managed to roll out a few long-requested new features.
I won’t list them all here, but special mention goes to the much-needed rebuild of the forum engine. You should find it a lot easier to follow and contribute to threads, as well as find and save the content you want. In fact, bookmarking is now site-wide, and the filters have all been given a serious power-up too, so you can easily narrow in on whatever stock, member or topic you’re after.
There’s also dark mode for the late-night scrollers, better charting, cleaner rankings, and full emoji reactions (because sometimes a rocket ship 🚀 says it better than paragraphs of analysis).
Another big part of this overhaul is behind the curtain. I’ve tried to set things up to create a proper foundation, allowing us to build and refine features much faster from here on out. That’s the plan, at least.
Anyway, I’m very interested in your feedback — particularly the negative feedback, as is the Strawman way. At the end of the day, the site has to deliver genuine utility and value, so I’m very receptive to any ideas that can help us toward that end.
Catch you on the site.
