Anyone else had trouble collecting their dividend thru Computershare recently? It seems the way the scam, oops, "procedure" works is that you purchase shares in a company, then they somehow don't use your default info to update your bank account, you contact them to ask "where the blazes is my divvy", they tell you to update your bank account details online, then they charge you a $25 "re-issue" fee for a dividend they never issued in the first place! If this isn't a bare-faced money-grab then please tell me what it is? (Not to mention all the lost interest, plus a fairly sizeable percentage who wouldn't bother or know to contact them in the first place and thus lose their entire dividend.)

Hey @RogueTrader Computershare they certainly dont like to serve the retail shareholder.

For Updates: Computershare have stopped the 'easy update' single share access! We cannot easily adjust Comms, TFN, Bank account details!!!

Anyway the Registry should be automatic as we purchase shares the: Communications, TFN, Bank account details should be in default mode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOOK at market Link.com .. this Registry runs 'smooth as silk' automaticallyupdates defaults for new shares......

The only way to avoid the $25 is to use the computershare email help /assistance system.

Or if the registery can send out pdf hard copies via postal system..

Yes a retail shareholder administration problem...many wasted hours actually!!!!!!

I hope this helps ...

A complete disgrace @RogueTrader

A cosy oligopoly doesn't really need to worry too much about serving customers well.

I've noticed a handful of my companies moving registry from Computershare to Automic. Hopefully this trend will continue...

Have had similar problems with computershare.

I pushed back that as the dividend wasnt paid out in the first instance its not a re-issue.

Seemed to work.

So far Ive managed to get all missing dividends paid without fees.

I also intended to escalate this if needed as a matter of principal.

My ideas were:

  • Email investor relations of company of holding and make complaint
  • Ask a question about this in AGM Q&A i.e. why they choose a registry that abuses shareholders (I imagine a few of these questions asked publicly will get Computershare Management to take notice)

But so far it hasnt been necessary.
