Does anyone know why Rural Funds Group is on a downward price move?

I have no special insights @feteguru, and don't follow RFF.

But this is a tough business to value -- it's exposed to one of the most competitive and volatile sectors you could imagine, and faces all kinds of external risks (tariffs, water rights, commodity price fluctuations, weather/climate etc). Assets held are highly illiquid and subject to external (and subjective) 3rd party valuations, and they carry a good deal of debt.

Not saying it's bad, or has deserved to fall. It's just in the too hard basket for me.

There have been a lot of shares traded recently, two to three times the usual daily number.

I don't know either and could be just a big owner getting out.

There is concern around tariffs on Australian agricultural goods - which would have an indirect impact on RFF i.e. almonds etc.

MFS Massachusetts Financial Services has been buying and selling for many months and is no longer over the 5% level.

One director bought a few months ago.

This would be surprising as the US has a significant trade surplus (~50%) with Australia. However, I am not going to pretend I can read the mind of the US president.
