Happy New Year Straw people!

I've been tracking my portfolio with a custom-built tracker, which works fine but takes a bit to update, add dividends, does not do tax etc

It seems most here use Sharesight and I looked at it but I also came across Navexa, which seems to do all that Sharesight does but with a modern interface and slightly cheaper subscription (I think). Does anyone use Navexa?

Would be interested to hear thoughts and experiences of both before I commit to one. Thank you!

I've mentioned multiple times I'm a sharesight user and love it, bias declaration upfront;

CAGR %, all the reports, viewing performance on whatever mood i'm in- daily, weekly, monthly. Tax reports for the accountant. Auto divvy/drp entry. I've subscribed for many years as it does what I want and won't switch unless it really goes downhill.

Also, I've logged support requests and they've been responsive.

But. I'm specific in my use. I track 3 portfolios across various HINs. I have international direct holdings. I don't track cash accounts or crypto via sharesight (although you can). I do not use broker automation. I simply prefer to manually update holdings. Also I don't want a sharesight app on my phone, I'm happy with only a desktop UI.

Now I will declare I havent use Navexa, but heres my thoughts anyway;

I watched Navexa arrive, as a one man startup. From memory his focus was improved tax reporting not portfolio management/reporting. The opposite to sharesight I think. A nuance worth noting.

Reddit here, from a year ago, shows what it was like. I also went and reviewed the Navexa website. I see the foundation of tax reporting, but I also see corporate style over promising and it appears to offer the same as sharesight.

I don't always like sharesights little tweaks/updates as they tweak the UI. But they are mature in their product.

That all reads like bias. And its true. I hope it helps either way. I'm also interested if anyone has had a fair crack at both. Both are less error prone than spreadsheets either way!!!
