Hi all, 

I am in a similar situation after joining on the 27th July. The only difference is that I joined Premium by the 30th July admittedly because FOMO got the better of me after receiving an email advising that places were filling up fast and that the 40% discount was only available for a limited time.

Nevertheless after going through the links presented by Bear77 and spending a lot more time on the site over the weekend I am a lot more comfortable that I made the right decision.

Despite being time poor due to a F/T job I look forward to interacting with other members and augmenting my knowledge when it comes to share investing.

As a recent member who hasn't barely logged into the site I've started getting emails asking to sign up for premium or I'll more or less lose access the site and "straws".

I haven't yet fully understand what this site is about or how to get any value out of it other than the forum so it's sounding quite expensive thus far.

lots of testimonials stating how they've been using it for free for years and they would love to pay the membership but as someone new with mere days to find value, can someone point me to an instruction page with a crash course of what this site is all about and how to find the useful info? Starting with what is a straw that people keep talking about? :)

There's also:  https://strawman.com/blog/strawman-5-minute-walkthrough/   - which can be reached from that "Blog" page (link above).

I would imagine it's a weird time to be joining Strawman as a free member, with the shift to Strawman Premium happening.  Those of us who have been here for years are mostly pretty comfortable with this transition, but it would look a lot different to a newbie.
