Morning Straws really enjoyed the first monthly meeting .

Insight into all companies discussed was very useful in assessing the case to invest and at what level.

Thanks Andrew Great start keep up the great work.

Look forward to learning more each and every month.

From just a quick look at the company's latest reports I agree that the financial year should provide an attractive set of numbers. But in the short term going forward the impact of eastern states lockdown might be significant  - the company does refer specifically to NSW Sure Lifesaving Club installations as part of future business rollout.

I would imagine looking at the last part of Friday trading more than a couple Strawman Prem. investors loaded up on SP3 :-)

Not gonna lie, I put quite bit on spectur on Friday. The investment case is too compelling and the CEO knows the engineering behind the product.

The technology question on semi conductors was correctly answered:

- They are grabbing components that are available today and rengineering it so that they can make more product. Rengineering is a key competitive advantage as you can weather the storm while still growing.

- Other companies buy off the shelf parts, stick it together but if the parts not match the spec then you can't make the product. The semiconductor shortage is slowing growth in companies that don't in-house their engineering capabilities. Hence automakers besides Tesla are selling less cars because they don't have the parts they need to make the car. Tesla on the otherhand redesigned the microcontrollers so that they can use the chips that are physically available in the market to produce cars. Elon brilantly answered the question on "can Tesla setup a chip fab to overcome the semiconductor shortage" -  if they were to setup a chip fab it would take 12-18 months before they can make chips in high volumes and Tesla can't wait 12-18 months as they are measured on how many cars they make x future value of autonomy. Instead of spending capital to make chip fab they are using engineering efforts to make use of the chips available in the market today. I believe they have 18 different microcontrollers rengineered.

- Granted Spectur is not Tesla but what made me invest was:

  1. CEO understand product & I believe he is honest about where the company is and what they can or cannot do (he literally told us that he is not here to convince you to buy the stock. You can tell he much rather enjoy spending time engineering or working on the product.)
  2. They have revenues from customers (not a lot of small/micro caps can say they have more than 50 customers let alone 500)
  3. Spectur's technical ability for the company to grow their product despite semiconductor shortage.
  4. The ridiculously low market valuation. I am doing a valuation on it and already without stretching any key assumptions the current market price is a joke.

My 2 cents worth - Just finished watching the meeting replay this morning. I thought the length was great and the time for each of the CEOs was just about right. Regarding Owen and Claude, I liked how Claude was questioning and presenting opposing views on Owen's stock pitch. And i thought that would have been great as a whole segment, where someone brings along a stock pitch and then another other guest or community can jump in with questions or opposing views for a deep discussion on a particular stock.

Overall I thought the meeting was great. Well done Andrew!
