To get these links supplied free to your inbox each Friday directly from the ASX, please click here, then fill in the the form (under "Subscribe") and then click "SUBMIT" once completed. This is a free service provided by the ASX and the nine participating brokers are Argonaut, Sequoia, Canaccord Genuity, Ord Minnett, CCZ Statton Equities, Taylor Collison, Euroz Hartleys, Wilsons Advisory and MA Moelis Australia.

Please be aware that these brokers may have financial arrangements with some of these companies being reported on, and those arrangements may include organising capital raisings or share placements, being involved in their initial float (IPO), or being engaged by the company to provide broker coverage to raise the company's profile. It is therefore safe to assume that many of these brokers have received fee payments or other income from some/many of these companies at some stage, or are positioning themselves to be able to do so in the future. While this may sound cynical, it's actually the reality, and it does NOT mean these reports are useless. They can contain a lot of useful information and can help when researching a company as a possible prospective investment (or a speculation in terms of those companies who don't yet earn any money for their shareholders). However, it's best to assume that these reports are not entirely independent and totally unbiased, and so they are best used as one of a variety of sources, rather than as a single source of information about a company.

But not this sort...

And try to keep in mind - while researching - that we all tend to allow behavioural biases to impact our investment decisions, and to impact the weighting we give to facts and other data when we are doing that research. Being aware of these natural behavioural biases is a good start. We need to try to be as objective and logical as possible, so trying to leave emotions and biases out of the process as much as possible.

The vast majority of broker reports are going to paint a company in a positive light. It's always good to be informed enough about a company to be able to articulate a bear case for that company, even if you do ultimately go ahead and invest in the company. Every company has risks. It pays to undertsand them.

Disclosure: I do not hold shares in any of the companies that are the subject of this week's free broker reports from the ASX as listed in this post.
