Reporting season expectations

Goldman Sachs has identified 11 companies that its equity analysts “believe have the greatest potential to surprise around results in terms of delivering: 1) an earnings beat/miss; 2) guidance surprise; or 3) capital management”:

Potential for a “positive” surprise: QBE Insurance Group (QBE.AX), Qantas (QAN.AX), Temple & Webster Group (TPW.AX), Judo Capital Holdings (JDO.AX), Endeavour Group (EDV.AX), Corporate Travel Management (CTD.AX), Qualitas (QAL.AX), Data#3 (DTL.AX), Telstra Corp (TLS.AX), and Breville Group (BRG.AX).

In contrast, Goldman has flagged these eight as potential “negative” surprise candidates: Sonic Healthcare (SHL.AX), Coles Group (COL.AX), Bega Cheese (BGA.AX), A2 Milk (ATM.NZ), Tabcorp Holdings (TAH.AX), Dicker Data (DDR.AX), and Altium Ltd. (ALU.AX).
