Just listened to Friday's episode of the Baby Giants podcast, Andrew mentioned that my adopted home of Adelaide is a great place, and has some decent companies listed on the ASX that are based here in Adelaide.
Not that it really matters to most Investors, however i thought i would share the link of the top 100 SA companies based in Adelaide.

We have been the best kept secret for a while.
We now have a Premier that sees value in attracting major events to SA.
No i don't work for the tourism board, but i am proud of my adopted state, as i am sure everyone here is proud of theirs.
To keep the theme going of what I am grateful for:
I am grateful for living here in SA and Australia as a whole.
Do love Adelaide, i grew up but there but had to move away, unless you’re a tradie, in health, the public service or have a family business to go into (usually a winery) jobs are tough there for young people.
Most of my year level moved interstate, some have moved back now to start families. Hopefully does begin to change but then growth may ruin the sought after liveability.
Crazy to think there are high rises going up in adelaide now!
Agreed @Summer12 - There's also some of the best winery regions in Australia (Barossa, Coonawarra, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley), Womadelaide festival (Australia's WOMAD, World Organisation of Music And Dance), Wang Wang and Fu Ni (the only two pandas in Australia), Monarto Safari Park (the largest safari experience to exist outside of Africa, spanning more than 1,500 hectares and home to more than 50 species of exotic and native mammals, birds and reptiles; you can fit every major zoo in Australia inside the Park and still have land left over) and Kangaroo Island. I've lived in rural WA, Perth, Bunbury, Kalgoorlie (when I was 1), spent 2 years in Tassie (1984 & '85), spent some time living in Melbourne, and now the last 22 years in Adelaide, and Adelaide is great, laid back enough, but with everything we need and more, and there's always something interesting to do, even if it requires an hour's drive to get there. As comedian Arj Barker likes to say at every gig in every city in the world, "It'll be even better when they finish building the roads!"
You guys are dead set blessed with cool stuff. Like the Grand Prix...oh wait, that's right...
(Possibly too soon).

1955: "You'd still look at me sideways and treat me like I'm backwards; But that's just fine, it so happens I'm Happy living in a city that is trapped in time."
The inspiration came when Matthew Lambert ("Suffa") and his wife went to see comedian Dylan Moran who opened the show saying he’d always wanted to come to Adelaide because he wanted to know what it was like in 1955.
“That cracked me up. I love Adelaide—I’ve lived there my whole life, but yeah it is sort of like that and when you’re from a small town it is almost like you’re stuck in a different era of time—which is just fine with me while there’s bombs over Damascus. I’m grateful to live somewhere beautiful and safe,” [Suffa] said.

Loving all the SA posts, and a reminder of what a great place Australia is (I write as a relatively new Australian).
But for me the reason for being of SA, and Adelaide specifically, is a place to land and rest (perhaps take a stroll and tea in the Botanic Gardens) before heading off on a tour of the Adelaide Hills, staying at Mt Lofty House, en route to the Barossa.
My great joy on a trip several years ago, on a visit to St Hallett, was not so much enjoying the latest release of Founders Block, but rather discovering the very affordable Blackwells Shiraz, and realising they do a 375ml bottle version. As the only red drinker in my nuclear Australian family, its perfect, and I’ve lost count of the number of orders I’ve placed at the online cellar door over the years.
Of course, in writing this, I confess I have not yet experienced the Coonawarra(in person), but that would likely be via BNE-MEL-MGB. (Very partial to the Zelma Estate Shiraz too.)
Anyways, God Bless SA.

Food Trucks around Adelaide - damn fine tucker - especially Matty's "Smokin' It Up" smoked brisket burgers - another ex-Coca-Cola worker - he's now running his own business and the food is amazing - my Son and I have driven up to 90 minutes each way to grab a feed some weekends - "Smokin'" generally operates south of the city and we live in the NE suburbs, but it's worth the travelling time! He's often set up at wineries too, like Patritti in Dover Gardens, Merrill's in Woodcroft, Ivybrook Farm at Maslin Beach, or around McLaren Vale, so it's always good to tuck into some decent grub, have a glass of red and listen to some live music, as it's usually relaxed vibes and a relaxed atmosphere, and almost always a great view too, as most of these wineries (except Patritti) are on a decent block of land with big trees, even a large duck pond (@ Merrill's). The food trucks also occasionally all turn up in the same place for a day or two, such as in that image directly above this text.
