These kind of diktats don't sound particularly appealing to me, if I was an employee. Atleast he's trying to make up for it with the in-house perks...

I think what they are offering in terms of a work environment that provides for particular needs ie gym, restaurant and crèche at a significantly reduced rate is a positive. Not new and definitely not groundbreaking (20yrs plus behind tech world).

However, I assume not everyone will work out of the Head Office and the delivery of the offerings in the article come across as written in as if maybe there is a lack of belief that those things are necessary and are reluctantly being provided. Let’s not even go into the bit about “I want to hold them captive all day”! (Raised eyebrows).

After reading yesterday where it was reported in the media…

“Our lazy First-World car manufacturers ... all of the leaders of those companies are making great profits out of combustion engines,” he said. “They don’t want to invest the money and waste their profits on developing the electric vehicle.”

I find it a bit rich you would be calling out traditional car makers wanting to make money. Isn’t that the aim of all listed companies?

Maybe it is a significantly stressful period for the company and there is a little steam being let out.

Anyway, you gather additional information about a leader when the chips are down. This can help to form your investing thesis.

That “captive” line sure got my attention too.

As much as I like and respect what Chris has done, it’s time to zip up and concentrate on navigating the MinRes ship through turbulent waters…

He's a dinosaur with those views, but then i think a lot of work practices in the mining industry would be like that.
