Forum Topics My story: From hot stocks to ETFs and Property

G'day all,

I recently was asked by Owen Rask (Founder - Rask Australia) to feature on the Australian Property Podcast after using a referral code for his Mortgage Broker to use throughout my home purchase process.

The conversation obviously centres around property (queue @Strawman being triggered) and the purchase process but it also discusses everything from my general approach to finance, investing and a cheeky plug for the great forum we have.

I welcome any feedback from the community on the discussion, and/or my approach. I've done a lot of public speaking as part of my profession, however this was my first podcast, and I can safely say I was more nervous for this than any keynote or panel presentation I have done; I guess that's because I don't see myself as a professional in the finance space.

Anyway, you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVwLruMWEg0&t=274s

Hopefully some of the stories give you a chuckle. Lastly, hats off to Andrew on not only the amount of podcasts and SM meetings you do virtually but also your ability to speak so clearly on quite complex and complicated topics - it's not easy to come up with responses on the fly when discussing finance or investing, but you do a ripper job of it.

Cheers

Had a chance to listen recently to this and it was a great listen @Seymourbutts .I could also relate to the discussion as it looks like we have been on a very similar investment journey from a shares and property perspective.

I think its always so challenging to put yourself out there and we are always our harshest critic on our performance. I think you did a really good job answering the questions and prompting some interesting discussion with Rask. Your openness and laidback personality also made this more than some of the professionals who get paid to do podcasts.

Keep up the good work and looking forward to future interactions on Strawman.
