NED Anthony Hines, who has a good background in the FinTech space, bought $2.93m worth at an average price of 97.6c.

Good sign.

Who is brave enough to follow the insider?

It worked well for me with BVS over the past 18 months or so.

@thunderhead this is wet-thy-pants huge, actually, following the good set of 1HFY25 results which I have not worked through yet.

Anthony Hynes is the Executive Chair running EML after they threw out Ron Hines the MD/CEO prior to Christmas. From his CV, he knows payments ...

This is a massive dose of confidence by the man running the shop - he has invested, on what looks like his own coin:

  • 6x the value of his previous investment in Oct 2024
  • The EML price has moved ~65% higher in that time
  • Ups his stake 4x from 0.24% to 1.02%

Not topping up further after my last Aug 2024 top-ups as am fully allocated now. But gee, this is very big tick ...!

Discl: Held IRL and in SM

Haha @jcmleng.

At the very least, you would rather see activity like this than not. I wasn't even close to doing it, but this encourages me to consider adding to my position. The fact that the market has been correcting recently also means this news probably hasn't been properly priced in yet by punters.

You did well to pick some up at substantially more depressed levels, but boy has this been a difficult holding with how volatile it has been, and how poorly it has treated shareholders over the years.

@thunderhead , absolutely. Started the position in 2019, topped up along the way, before the troubles, and then watched it all evaporate to ~90% loss at peak. I started topping up from Jan-Apr 2024 (bit too early) then again Jul-Aug 2024 (about right), roughly evenly split.

But my strong view is that the turnaround is mostly done and it is now back to focusing on growth. They got rid of the bad stuff, management is now in place and stable, interest rate movements are a non-event on earnings, digital payments is only going to get bigger and all of these are reflected in the 1HFY25 results.

This is medium-high conviction for me now. Am not out of the woods yet, but I can see the light getting brighter ...
