Big relief rally today. NDQ up 4.2%, And the hedged version HNDQ up 7.1%. Seems the $A is a big tailwind during risk on sentiment. If I were sitting on a loss with NDQ, one strategy could be to sell it to take the capital loss and buy HNDQ to take advantage of the low A$

Given the strength of the USD what do people think of HNDQ the currency hedged version of this ETF ? Slightly higher fees but it may benefit as the USD returns to trend

NDQ is one of my main holdings IRL. I have had the same thought before if buying at low AUD to USD (say 65c or below) then I should buy HNDQ rather than NDQ as over time it is likely that the exchange rate will normalise to something higher. The 0.03% extra fee compounding is never going to overtake a 10% move in the currency. Seems like a cheap hedge on the AUDUSD moving against you...
