Wanted to make a safe space for people to share some of their 'alternative investments'. I'm talking heirlooms, vintage cars, rock samples from the moon or rare guitars. I want to see what you've got going on the side that is technically an appreciating asset. Even if that's just the excuse you used to disarm the other half when purchasing an item which you actually don't intent on selling.

I'll go first with a recent one.

When I was a kid I would save up my pocket money and buy the new official World Cup soccer match ball. Usually about $200-$250 but I thought it was fun and would be great to actually play our weekend comps with the ball we knew the pro's were using. Turns out I shouldn't have trashed them to the point of extinction because they're "worth" some serious money in percentage gains right now. Those balls are worth somewhere between 5x and 10x in about 10 years and I think that's a pretty good gain!

Anyway, I've just received my Qatar 2022 offical ball in the mail and hopefully there is some sort of Library of Alexandria moment where fans lose their mind at a corrupted final winner and decide to set fire to all of the match balls hence rarifying my little slice of history. In the meantime, looks cool on a wall.
