New research is firming on the idea that Viagra may prevent Alzheimers.
This study, published in Nature, found that sildenafil - a generic form of Viagra - could raise prevention of the cognitive disorder by up to 70%.
Intuitively one might wonder how reducing blood flow to the brain would help avoid a cognitive disorder, but lead researcher Dr. Feixiong Cheng hypothesised that it might work by reducing levels of toxic tau proteins.
However, experts are warning it may be premature to get too excited with studies yet to progress to the clinical stage and stiffly warned keyboard warriors from the pun frenzy it might create.
"It's hardly funny", one said.
