Seems I'm the only holder on Strawman ... perhaps this one is flying under the radar.
A little bit of background info on Nanollose as it nears a key inflection point in it's history.
Nanollose is a biotechnology company creating fibres with minimal environmental impact. They use a patent protected eco-friendly fermentation process using industrial waste to grow fibres that could become an alternative to plant derived cellulose fibres. In early 2021 they signed an agreement and issued a joint patent with Birla Cellulose, a business unit of Grasim Industries Limited, part of Aditya Birla Group which ranks amongst the top publicly listed companies in India.
The last quarterly reported that the completion of the first pilot fibre spin with Birla Cellulose is anticipated to occur in February, which will mark the most important milestone yet in the commercialisation of the Company’s Tree-Free Nullarbor lyocell fibre. On completion of the pilot fibre spin which will produce the first amounts of Nanollose’s revolutionary fibre & fabrics they will be in a position to ink agreements with leading global brands in the fashion and apparel industry for the provision of samples and commencement of product trials, thereby commencing the commercialisation phase for the business.
The CEO has run a frugal business while pre-commercialisation, expenses at $350K for the quarter with $2.1M in the bank.
The fashion industry is well aware of it's devastating impact it has on the planet, I expect demand for a premium product like Nullabor Lyocell which is stronger, finer and significantly more environmentally friendly to rayon type fibre to be high. The end product is also suitable for the personal wipes market with the same attributes, a combined global addressable market of $60B in rayon and personal wipes alone.
From a competitor perspective, Spinnova is a Finnish sustainable material company established in 2014 with a $1B MC and demonstrates the potential for NC6 ( 150M SOI / $16M MC ) and while Spinnova are further down the commercialisation path a SWOT analysis on the fabrics shows Nanollose fibre has many advantages, and with the might of the Aditya Birla group to assist in the GTM deployment the prospects of success are strong ( all dependent on successful completion of the first fibre spin).
