@Noddy74 I liked that article. I would also posit that the googling of "air fryers" might also have been shot up by people who are unsure which homonym is appropriate; "fryer" (device for frying) or "frier" (one who fries).
The rest of the article was really good. For comparison, using an air fryer as a single/couple in a unit would make a bit difference vs a normal oven especially the heating time which is essentially wasted energy. One of the big problems is actually the fact that most people cook at the same time and there is little solar generation to support that. Anyway, that's beside the point!
When cooking for a family of 3 or 4, an oven is going to be a more appropriate solution. Also forgetting all the other ways to cook things. An air fryer is great for small stuff and snacks but the families trying to cut back should just keep using an oven. It is funny though, unless you spend $70 on a Kogan model, a decent air fryer will set you back $300-$600 on a good day. Would have to be a lot of cooking to make up that portion of the bill.
