Good news hits like a tonne of bricks

There was some very uncharacteristic price action and volume on Friday 19/09/2025 for 1414 Degrees. Enough to earn a speeding ticket from the ASX in fact
It seems to stem from an announcement from 14D earlier that morning about their SiBrick (silicon bricks) potentially moving to mass production.
[ASX announcement re SiBrick production]
As you can see, not a huge amount of detail unfortunately.
It is possibly great news, and possibly not earth shattering also. Anything is possible with a penny dreadful.
I’m a hold. I don’t know enough yet to buy more. If I were the instructing solicitor for the Prince of Darkness’s highly paid barrister I would be scrawling the following questions on post-it notes to the lectern:
- How much margin is there in a silicon brick?
- At what distance — if any — does freight of heavy bricks become a very big factor in the above equation?
- How hard are these things to make? Will 14D have sufficient first-mover/brand quality to stay ahead of competitors?
- Can there be any IP protection in a SiBrick? Has 14D obtained those protections?
In short, are we looking at a an original ‘Lego’ style brick where 14D will just have a licence to print money — where the brand, originality, quality and IP are so good that the above queries just don’t come into it? Or are we looking at something else?
Anyway, this is what it physically looks like for those that are interested:
