I don't own Tyro but have considered it frequently. Mostly because it usually pays to hold the same companies as Joe Magyar. His track record with Motley Fool Pro was fantastic and his Lakehiuse smaller companies fund stats are the best in the industry.
With Square buying Afterpay, this now creates a huge beast that captures the whole processing of consumer and merchant transactions (and fees) but also adds in financing and lending to both parties, in the fullness of time. This basically excludes the formal banking sector from much of day to day financial activity.
how can smaller eftpos payment services can compete ?
be interested if anyone understands this better but the same would likely apply to SmartPay as well.
