Just a rant: -

I emigrated 15 years ago from the UK, we chose Westpac because they could help us from the UK with our property purchase and accounts in readiness for the move.

Currently have Cheque, eSaver and Credit card with them, i have lately become a fan and participant in Frequent Flyer and Velocity Programs, too tight to pay for business class.

So, I contacted them to open a new Credit card (Qantas) with the Intention of closing the Velocity account lot more points on offer.

I provided with them everything they needed to approve the account.

Today i get a call asking for a copy of the Visa - I Informed the guy that they have the original Visa from the home office that allows me to live here in Australia unrestricted. He Informed me that the Visa, from the home office is not the correct visa, I asked what Visa he wanted, I don't know i just need the Visa that allowed you to reside in Australia.

The one that you currently have from the home affairs office isn't good enough i asked again....... Not sure he replied.

He asked if i could call the home affairs office and get a copy of my Visa.

I said sure no problem and resent the exact same document that they already had, and i mean same photo upload.

Application approved.

Seriously, a disturbing process.
