Certainly with the current clinical environment and financial/resource stressor of covid, I would hazzard a guess that atleast in NSW Health where I work, new IT systems aren't high on the shopping list of hospital executives who's primary priority is self preservation and secondary priority is to provide a safe clinical environment (yes I'm a cynic but with good reason). Also, in addition to the significant ongoing covid-related costs, the additional role-out and training of a new IT system across an LHD is hugely resource intensive, and an added stressor that I wouldn't have thought would be welcome at this time. This is not to say it may not happen in the future, or in other areas of the country or world. These are just opinions based on local experience.
