Agreed @mmff. Boy oh boy – wasn’t that Motley Fool sell off recommendation a stinker? The business is going great guns.

I made a Straw two months ago that pertained to me making a short/medium-term trade in DDR, due to what I perceived an unjustified sell off. As means of an update, my thesis has largely played out. I bought in at 12.90, and today I have sold just over half of the holdings at a price of 15.05. Given DDR is such a great company, I couldn’t part ways with all of them – something in the back of my mind suggests I would one day regret it... I will let the remainder sit there for the long term.

DISC: Sold some, but not all.

@TechBunny, thanks for sharing.

I hold a similar view - although I think the sell off pertains to a combination of holders taking some profits, insider selling (which I have no concerns with in this instance) and the Motley Fool sell recommendation.

To touch on the insider selling quickly, I think it is important to remember that the CEO doesn't take a yearly salary from the company (he does however earn dividends). The CEO still holds over 30% of the issued shares. More on this here

I want to clarify that I don't normally purchase stocks with a view to trade out in a short to mid term timeframe, but I think there is some opportunity here. I am comforted by the fact that this is a genuinely good-quality business and I think the sell off is both unjustified and an overreaction.

Consequently, I purchased a small holding this morning. I think the risk/reward ratio is in my favour.

DISC. Held - purchased at 12.85c
